How to Play Casino Hold’em from Play’N Go

If you love to play poker table games like Three Card Poker, then you may want to check out Casino Hold’em. Casino Hold’em is a fun poker table game from Play’N Go. The game has elements of Three Card Poker but is played in a Texas Hold’em format. Let’s take a look at how to play this game.

How to Play Casino Hold’em

Casino Hold’em plays a lot like Three Card Hold’em, but the game is played at Texas Hold’em. At the start of each hand, you will make up to two bets. The first bet is the Ante bet which is required to get cards. The other is the AA Bonus bet, which is optional. This pays if you make a pair of aces or better on the flop.

After you make your initial bets, you will click on the Deal button. At this point, you and the dealer will get two hole cards. The dealer’s cards will be face down. The flop will also be dealt. This is where you will make the only decision of the game.

You can opt to Fold or Call. If you fold, the hand is over. When you make the Call, the turn and river cards are dealt and the hands go to showdown.

Similar to Three Card Poker, the dealer must qualify. The dealer must have at least a pair of fours to qualify. If the dealer fails to qualify, you get 1 to 1 on your Ante and the Call bet pushes.

However, when the dealer qualifies and your hand is better, you will get 1 to 1 on the Call bet. The ante is paid according to the following paytable:

  • Royal Flush – 100:1
  • Straight Flush – 20:1
  • 4 of a Kind – 10:1
  • Full House – 3:1
  • Flush – 2:1
  • Straight and Below – 1:1

AA Bonus Payouts

If you opt to play the AA Bonus, you will win whenever you have at least a pair of aces or better on the flop. When you win this bet, it is paid according to the following paytable

  • Royal Flush – 100:1
  • Straight Flush – 50:1
  • 4 of a Kind – 40:1
  • Full House – 30:1
  • Flush – 20:1
  • Pair of Aces Through Straight – 7:1

Note that this bet pays off regardless of the outcome of the main hand. As you can see from the example in the photo, we lost the main hand but still won the AA Bonus bet.

Strategy for Casino Hold’em

The strategy for this game is a bit different from Three Card Poker. Since the dealer has to have a pair of fours to qualify, you will be folding many more hands than you’d think. However, there are still plenty of times where you will make the Call bet.

Here are some of the scenarios where you will make the Call bet:

  • Any winning hand above a pair
  • Any pair
  • Ace or king-high with the ace or king in your hole cards
  • Two overcards to the flop. This means the hole cards are higher than the flop.
  • Queen or jack high holding either the queen or jack as your hole cards. If the flop is all of one suit and you don’t have a four-flush, it is time to fold.
  • Four cards to a straight or flush
  • Jack or higher as your hole cards on a paired flop

Full House Winner

Why play this form of strategy? Using an optimal strategy in this game, you can shave the house edge down to 2.16%. That’s an RTP of 97.84%.

The RTP for the AA Bonus bet is nowhere near as good. You’re giving up 6.26% in house edge. That’s an RTP of just 93.74% Even the worst online pokies for real money have a better RTP than this side bet.

You can find Casino Hold’em at all Aussie online casinos offering Play’N Go online casino games. This includes Woo Casino, Yoju, and many casinos on our list of online casino partners.
